Being back in a Year 7/8 classroom fulltime again had shifted my focus from Drama-it a bit last term. Taking over part through a term always comes with its issues. Playing some Drama games gave us a fun way to get to know each other and opportunities to set boundaries and expectations. The students enjoyed playing Everyone Who's and often ask to play it. With this game listening is talked about a lot., as is not singling out one person. Prisoners and Wardens has become another favourite. I chose to teach them this game to focus on spatial awareness. However, it has also highlighted their unwillingness to work with those that are not their friends. Slowly, it has improved. I think it is their competitive nature that is helping them push through.
